Anthony,
I frequent the same usuals.
I agree that the Mercury Lounge is better sans smoke.
The Bowery Ballroom is usually where I catch the Church when they are in
town among other bands. Seen some excellent shows there since I've been
back in the area (lived in Athens, Ga for 7 years for college and
beyond...)
Friends of a friend from Boston played Pianos not too long ago but I
didn't make it to the show (Douglas Fir - great band!)
Where is the Lakeside Lounge?
Hope non NYC types don't mind this back and forth.
But alls fair - you guys are talking B&Bs!
:)
and PV1 - you should really enjoy Robyn. Thanks for the b-day wishes.
The best part of his shows really is the monologues.
I haven't seen him (aside from with the Soft Boys in '02) with a proper
band in years and years.
Are you a fan of Kimberley Rew? He has a new one out in January and I
hear it's really good.
Kate
