John Peel
- Subject: John Peel

I think that all of us lovers of non-mainstream music are sad at the moment
following the death of John Peel. The broadsheets seem to have gone to town
on him today, and quite right too. Someone has said that he's the most
important or influencial person in popular music of the past 40 years, and
for non-mainstream music its difficult to argue against that. He also came
across as a thoroughly decent, likeable human being, who just happened to be
extraordinarily passionate about music.
He will be missed by musicians as much as listeners.
RIP John.
