Blue Aeroplanes
Kitchens Of Distinction
The Church
Teenage Fanclub
The first four are certs, but the fifth is a more tricky choice.
I considered Big Star, Television, Ride, & Mercury Rev (and I'll probably
think of half a dozen more within minutes of posting this), but I think
I'll go for a band with a B.Aeros connection...
Witness
(sadly no more, I believe)
And to those who mentioned The Muttonbirds, one of the guys from that band
recently released a very fine CD under the name Marshmallow.
Worth checking out (not bad live either).

friendsloversplanes....
top 5 live performances I've seen have been.....
Aeroplanes (let's say playing Swagger at Exeter Lemon Grove...as my
American pal said 'Wow man...the crescendos!')
U2 (Bristol Poly playing Boy in 1980)
The Smiths (Bristol Uni 1983)
Elvis Costello (Bristol on Get Happy tour)
Motorhead (Bristol Granary a million years ago)
....actually, the Blue Aeros have been the best band I've seen live on
at least a dozen separate occasions....ALL my desert island discs are BAs,
just difficult getting it down to eight.....
....but a fantasy line-up would be the ones that I missed
Blue Aeros (natch)
Dead Kennedys
Talking Heads
The Clash
Buzzcocks
....hey, this wish list business don't half age ya!
peace & love sisters and brothers
