Judging by the time the Aeroplanes have played at Fiddlers the last few
years, those of you peculiar enough to prefer the Fall may be able to
catch some Aeroplanes afterwards, with a swiftly arranged taxi.

If I remember rightly, they didn't come on much before 10.45pm in previous
years.

I know someone said the Fall always play late but most venues (at least in
London, which is admittedly irrelevant here) have licensing laws that make
bands finish before 11pm. But not Fiddlers! (Either that or it's so in
the middle of nowhere that nobody notices). If you could bring the rest
of the Fall crowd along as well it could be a good night. An even better
night, I mean. (Check show times first!)

N.

This all seems very sensible.

There are two other alternatives worth considering. One, not going to see
The Fall.
Two, staying at home.

See what I'm driving at here?

Has anybody checked the Fall chatline to see if any Fall fans have the
same dilemna. Personally it's a no brainer although I have to say that the
one time I saw The Fall (with Pulp supporting) I thought they were
excellent.

So, assuming a few of you would like to see the Fall & BA on the same
bill: who would you like to book for your ultimate Blue Aeroplane
festival. 5 bands maximum and BA need not necessarily headline.

Mine would be:in order of appearance

Kitchens of Distinction
Stereolab
Frank Black & The Catholics
Blue Aeroplanes
Teenage Fanclub

Over to you. And, Lisa, I'm a little nervous about Toad Lodge. I think it
would weird me out a bit.

Fiddlers has a late licence for both music and alcohol, but so has the
Bierkeller. Its down to what happens on the night. I doubt if either gig
will sell out, so if those (NW1 on his own?) attending the Fall head
straight over to Fiddlers after you might see some of the Planes, or you
might just get to meet the rest of us and we can compare notes/insults.

Judging by the time the Aeroplanes have played at
Fiddlers the last few years, those of you peculiar
enough to prefer the Fall may be able to catch some
Aeroplanes afterwards, with a swiftly arranged taxi.
If I remember rightly, they didn't come on much before
10.45pm in previous years.

I know someone said the Fall always play late but most
venues (at least in London, which is admittedly
irrelevant here) have licensing laws that make bands
finish before 11pm. But not Fiddlers! (Either that
or it's so in the middle of nowhere that nobody
notices). If you could bring the rest of the Fall
crowd along as well it could be a good night. An even
better night, I mean. (Check show times first!)

Yes Steve, it is a bit Hammer House of Amphibious Horror! Only cool if
you're a bit of a freak (like me!). Anyway - they don't cook the
sausages properly, so you're probably better off elsewhere... I'm sure
you'll find a lovely cosy room somewhere... Maybe there's a Fluffy
Bunny Lodge in Bristol?!

Fall vs Blue Aeroplanes... In the words of Ricky Gervais which I've
twisted to suit my purpose.."Blue Aeroplanes - brilliant. The Fall -
rubbish". And that's about all I have to say on that! Doubt if Fall
fans would have the same dilemma... probably all too busy being
obnoxious tossers and moping about in bedsits coz they can't get
girlfriends... OOOOOHHH top marks Miss Ash for the biggest sweeping
generalisation of the century! I make no apologies - the Fall are
crap!! ;o)

Anyway - my BA's festival would be: (and will I be chastised for
eternity if the BA's aren't top of the bill? Or if I don't mention any
obscure 1980's student bands..? Or if it contains people who are
dead?? Oh well, them's the breaks...)

Bob Dylan and The Band... in fact - I'd recreate The Last Waltz for my
headliner!
Blue Aeroplanes
Bill Hicks (is that kinda cheating?! Maybe he can come on an sing 'I
Am The Resurrection"!)
DEFINITELY The Charlatans
Ani DiFranco

So, assuming a few of you would like to see the Fall & BA on the same
bill: who would you like to book for your ultimate Blue Aeroplane
festival. 5 bands maximum and BA need not necessarily headline.

Mine would be:in order of appearance

Kitchens of Distinction
Stereolab
Frank Black & The Catholics
Blue Aeroplanes
Teenage Fanclub

Over to you. And, Lisa, I'm a little nervous about Toad Lodge. I think
it would weird me out a bit.
