Re: In the band?

We got our new album sent over from the US. Blueberry Boat.
I like the way it just keeps going, little motifs repeating, and I am
sure that lyrical quirk (actually I'm not sure, people say "I'm sure'
when they mean 'I wonder if' don't they? "I'm sure I locked the car.'
Why mention it if you are?) is a kind of parody of the musical; the
stories on the new album have a kind of 'let's make a musical about
this' feel which I quite enjoy.
The single is a cover of a traditional song recorded by the Albion
Band, I Wish I Was Single Again. Robyn Hitchcock does a cover of
another Albion Band song, Postman's Knock. I don't think the Blue
Aeroplanes have ever done a cover of an Albion Band song.
But there's still time.
Or is there?

Nev, as you're the new Wojtek you best get Phil to put

Someone (sorry I forget who) asked me about the Fiery
Furnaces. I have the album but the lyrics annoy me -
they sound like they should be deep and meaningful but
I think they're just words strung together. I think
the music is clever, though, so I'll keep my ears open
for the next album - coming very soon apparently.
Quality new albums I have bought (fairly) recently -
Sleepy Jackson, Graham Coxon, Belle & Sebastian,
Stephen Duffy & the Lilac Time, Madrugada, the
Channel. And watch out for James Blunt (you heard it
here first! Possibly.).
