Hi,
Not sure about a rock goes to college / in concert show but i do know that around 1992 the planes were one of the headliners for a series of gigs at the town and country club to fund raise for shelter. As i recall all of the gigs were filmed and did wind up being televised , usually at some ridiculous time of the night ! Think these shows were screened on itv or c4 ? The program included an interview with gerard who pointed out that they were the only headliner in the run of gigs who had never had an nme cover !( nme were the organisers of the gigs )

Someone has mentioned to me that the Planes once did an 'In concert' or
possibly 'Rock Goes to College' for BBC TV if anyone knows the
years/dates I can see if the library kept them and get some copies run
off as it's where I work.....but library won't search without a rough
date

This probably won't be the first time I have been accused of being a
weird shit, but I rate FLP2 extremely highly. If it were cut down to a
standard length album (so, we can happily lose the truly piss-awful
"...and stones" remix, and perhaps one or two, but by no means all, of
Rodney's offerings,
etc) it would be universally highly acclaimed. It's always loomed large
in my attempts to produce a definitive BA compilation MD, that's for
sure. Fruit is indeed crap, though. For live stuff , I remember fondly
the two live shows that they did for BBC R1 - one was around the time of
Swagger, the other was following the release of Beatsongs. Is there
anyone out there who has any copies of them?
