This is interesting ... For whatever reason, I always thought I knew that Costello co-produced Beatsongs with Hirsch, but that his credit doesn't appear on the sleeve due to some contractual wrangling by Costello's record company which prevented him from being seen to work for anyone else at the time. I definitely remember seeing Beatsongs routinely listed in discographies of Costello productions. Can anyone prove otherwise? And if it is all untrue, how/why did the rumor get started?

No! Larry Hirsch did it all, apart from Yr Own World, which was produced by
Gerard, Angelo and JJ Key.
