RE: Friday...T-shirts

Are you coming down on the train?  If so, you just walk out of the main Station entrance by where all the taxis are, head down the slope to the traffic lights, and the Holiday Inn is opposite and slightly to the right.

To get to Fiddlers from there, walk away from the centre (this would be the equivalent of turning left if coming down the slope from the train station) on the opposite side to the where the station is (you'll go in front of a pub called the Great Engineer, an Italian restaurant and a Peugeot garage).

Then you'll come to a major junction that incorporates a bridge over a river.  Cross the bridge and turn right so that you walk alongside the river (keeping Fowlers Motorcycles and Barts Spices on your left.

Follow the river almost to the next big roundabout, but a couple of hundred yards before you get there take the last turning on the left (I think its called Whitehouse Lane, probably the 3rd turning you come to.)

Go down there, then you either take the first or second right (perhaps someone with access to a Bristol A-Z could confirm?!)  The road does a right angle bend to the left right opposite a big Park Furnishers store.

Follow the road around a right angle bend to the right and Fiddlers is the old stone building on your left.  If you think - hang on, this looks like a trading estate - then you're probably heading in the right direction.

Hope this helps!

I think there are 2 Holiday Inn Expresses, but I could be wrong.  If you are
in the one by Temple Meads railway station then you're 10 minutes walk.  The
other one is quite a bit further.  I'll be getting there a bit late, but I
might be driving anyway so there is the possibility of a lift.  Otherwise
can show you a good place to flag down a taxi.  Get back to us with the
hotel's address and I'll give you walking directions.

Austen,
From memory it's very central - the gig is not...but only a short cab
ride..probably cost you a fiver......although last time we walked back
to our hotel, the City Inn, post gig as there were no cabs that late and
it took about 15 mins.

Dear all
See you there. Is there a BA watering hole for meeting up before
hand. I will be in Bristol by 6.00 ish. I am staying at the Holiday Inn
Express, how close is this to the gig? Is it a long walk from the town
centre?

Phil,
What am I going to wear now, but at least you have the
chance to atone by naming your firstborn after all the present &
previous members of the Aeroplanes i.e Gerard, Rodney, Angelo,
Wojtek........Hendry (substitutions by gender, natch). It would be worth
seeing the birth certificate on a t-shirt!
See you all friday

Dear All,
Due to having a thousand and two things on my plate at
the moment...including finishing some hefty house renovation before
imminent arrival of fatherhood, I've been unable to get the 'Are you now
or have you ever been?' T-shirts printed up in time for Friday's
gig.....a double shame due to the rumoured Angelo appearance...however
once you've all nagged me on Friday and thrown the odd punch in my
direction and poored the odd beer over me....I WILL get it done....a bit
like waiting for new Aero's material I'm sure it'll be well worth the
wait.....
See you all Friday.
Phil.
