Back to the Blue Aeroplanes for a second.. just been reading an interstic article on one-hit wonders in todays Guardian G2 section. anyone remember Fiddlers Dram who had a No1 hit with Day Trip to Bangor in 1979 (awful folk nonsence)? Well the bass player on that particular waxing was the BA's own Ian Kearey..

There you go fact fans...

Have a great weekend

They have that Zappa book in the University library here in Liverpool.  Will have a look if I get a moment.  There is also a Zappa covers band around here called (if memory serves) The Muffin Men.

Never been a huge fan, but could be interesting.

Ben Watson's "Negative Dialectics of Poodle Play"
about Zappa is highly pretentious but ..
the person for the Aeroplanes biog (apart from Gerard
of course) would be Pete Pawsey. He wrote a great summarising piece on the
band for Hearsay Magazine
in the mid-nineties.
anyone else as upset about the passing of Elliott Smith as us?
Richard
