Agree about the Dury biog it's 'cracking' - also I've just read 'No Sleep
Till Canvey Island' by Will Birch which charts the rise and demise of the
Pub Rock years in the 70's.. a great read!!

James Young's book "Nico: Songs They Don't Play On The Radio is one of the
best rock'n'roll reads you could ask for, by the way. Charts the sad
decline of Nico's last years from the perspective of a member of her band.

I've ordered this from Amazon's marketplace secondhand. They've got lots
more copies too if anyone else is interested: http://tinyurl.com/qutw from
£2.70.

I was on the lookout for good music books, so thanks for the
recommendation.
Other books I've enjoyed are Julian Cope's excellent Head-on / Repossessed
(extremely readable - esp the first book) and David Cavanagh's My Magpie
Eyes are Hungry for the Prize - the Creation Records Story (Paul Mulreany
has a bit part in the history of Creation).

Has anyone else got any recommendations for books on music?

Jof
