Hi
Another sad ex-pat speaks
Songs: Your Ages, Broken and Mended, Cowardice and Caprice, Veils of
Colour, Spitting Out Miracles, Tolerance, The Applicant, Jacket Hangs,
Warhol's 15, Growing Up Growing Down, Huh, etc. etc.
Bands: [current] The Delgados, Quickspace, Belle and Sebastian, Stereolab,
[historic] The Velvet Underground, Roxy Music, The Fall
Chris Morris or Paul Whitehouse: Chris Morris (but Father Ted beats them
all)
Questions: (i) Anyone have the full set list from the other week? (ii) Who
was in the band? (iii) What's going to happen to the stuff that was once
slated for the 'Art Star' LP? (iv) Anyone in LA up for a few beers?
I got into the BAs around the time of 'SOM' when they seemed to play some
minor venue in Camden or Camberwell every other week. And I've stuck with
them through thin and thin ever since. (Other great bands of that era:
Summerhill, The Corn Dollies, The Perfect Disaster, My Bloody Valentine.)
Around the same time I had a job at a place in King's Cross where they
made
those little pop-up maps of the tube system, and it turned out the map
designer was Nick Jacob's wife. She couldn't believe I'd heard of the
band.
Bye for now,
J
