How can you quote all those ace bands (BMX Bandits, Wedding Present,
Flatmates, Talulah Gosh) in one sentence, and then dour eighties garbage
(Mighty Lemon Drops, Icicle Works) in the other? There's no comparison.
Perfume by Paris Angels is one of my all time favourite singles though..
BTW, last year we saw Duglas from BMX Bandits (at Camber Sands), Marine
Research (ex-Talulah Gosh, who are fantastic), but missed Cinerama
(ex-Wedding Present, although I didn't realise that at the time).
...and you're right. The Rodney thing has been done to death now. All
I'll
say about him is that he has an overly-prominent top lip, a bit like Lou
Reed. Or a chimp. Oh, and if anyone wants the tape of his support slot
last December (Whistlin' in the Dark yes, Imperial, no), let me know.
Damian
