The band that everyone seems to think I should love but generally can't
abide (with the exception of a few fine songs) is the Kinks. Oh, Ray's
whiney voice. Their supposed charm as a quintessentially English group has
never struck me as being particularly accurate, let alone important.
I can almost smell the smoke rising from the newly lit stake upon which I
am about to be burnt for heresy.
