And what about........Green on Red, Dream Syndicate and the Long Ryders,
the
representants of the so called Paisley Underground movement (Byrds and
60's
oriented, strong on melody & harmony ). Might sound somewhat too retro and
conservative for the average BA's fan, but I still look upon those
mid-eighties days as one of the most exciting in my entire life!. And
finally to show that it's a small world after all and to make the link
between alternative country rock and the BA's, the following : Sid Griffin
(former Long Ryders lead singer) is currently London based and performing
with the Coal Porters. One of his former band members (guitarist Joff
Lowson) is now part of the 856th BA's line-up (stunning us live with his
excellent banjo chords in ....And Stones).
