Though Dave was a founder of the Black Eyed Susans, he wasn't a full time
member of them. He appears on their blistering first EP, 'Some Births are
worse than murders' doing brilliant over the top vocals on 2 of the 4
tracks. He then moved back to England to concentrate on taking drugs,
while
the group stayed on in Australia . 2 more EP's appreared , one of which
McComb produced but doesn't sing on. These 3 EPS plus 3 bonus tracks
(including a version of in the pines) are included on the CD 'Welcome
Stranger' . I really like a lot of this, though be warned that apart from
what I've mentioned above the only other McComb related item is a song
called 'Oceans of You' which David wrote and Phil Kakulas sings.

The first Black Eyed Susans album proper 'All Souls Alive' has McComb as a
full time member, he co-writes nearly all the songs, but only sings on a
cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Memories'. A magnificant performance though.
Again
this is a good, not brilliant album. Both well worth getting though.

I take it you have his solo album ' Love of Will' released in 1994 . Some
of
the finest lyrics ever written. A beautiful album.

What I've heard of the stuff he wrote with co-star, his final band named
after one of his dogs, was as good as he ever got, if rather downbeat .
Songtitles included 'Kept my eye on you', 'Lucky for Some', 'Murder in the
Dark', 'You've got a funny way of showing you love me'. Hopefully these
may
one day be released. All of which show him to be one of the greatest
songwriters of all time.

I've got a few articles about him I found banging around off the net , I
could forward you if you interested.

>I would rate born sandy devotional as one of my top ten albums of all
time.
>I can't begin to express what it contains emotionally. I'm lost for
words.

The Seabirds, what a song.
