Well, I've just finshed my first listening of Cavaliers and thought I'd
share my deep feelings with all of you sensitive individuals :)
I think Gerard has finally flipped his lid.
I had extremely low expectations when I received this album and I have
to say that I was relieved to find them unfulfilled. The Cavaliers
stuff is actually quite good in places, in particular I love the banjo
diddlies and the song that sounds like Cat Scan'd History. The
production quality is pretty poor, particularly on Jazz Baby. I have a
terrible ear, but even I could hear my Sony speakers vibrating more than
they usually do. Overall, I'd say that I prefer the first discette to
Rough Music and Life Model. However, I wish they'd put more new stuff
on the second discola. I assume that he half-filled two discs because
he wanted to keep them artisically and physically separate, yet together
in one package? Maybe he should have called this album Siamese
Boyfriend?
