Sorry. I'm on a few other lists and there seems to be a common need
(usually started by males) to engage in a pissing contest regarding
what bands are best, and what country produces the best bands. It is
possibly the most tiresome discussion thread and can kill a list pretty
quickly.
I'll admit, I don't like The The much. I think that Matt Johnson is a
gifted producer and arranger and instrumentalist. He's an amzingly
dull lyricist to me though, and that just kills it. That whole "I'm in
pain" thing is... well, just sad. I hear enough moaning most days, no
need to go out and buy a CD which will simply frustrate the hell outta
me.
But I'm not gonna knock anyone for liking the band. Hell, people been
giving me grief for my ELO and Rush rekkids. Too bad. I likes 'em, so
I'm keepin' 'em.
Thousand Yard Stare... mmmm... I've got a copy of their US release
around here somewhere (I think it's packed up in a box; we're moving at
the end of the month).
Anyone in Chicago gonna go see the Jazz Butcher? Or Marty Wilson
Piper?
