Hi!
I'm new to this email list, but I would like to present this slightly
haphazard stream-of-consciousness "poem" by way of introduction. Let me
know what you think...
Our relationship was broken mended, so I hired a detective song to find
you
again. I'm wond'ring wild in the dark, wishing I had a map below.
Whatever happened to our golden birds? Perhaps they might guide me to
this
secret destination. I drove all night to get here, gunning the works; I
had to take a smart drug just to stay open.
Could I offer you a taste of sugared almond, or would you be scared? I
apologize for being too forward; it seems my worry beads have given me a
contact high!
Are you with someone now, maybe a guy named James? He sounds like a wild
one, makes me look like a saint, me and the devil indeed. Dear, though
the
night is gone, my jacket hangs just inside your door, ready for me to
swagger out in. But you already know my cat scan hist'ry, and you've
heard
the rough music I tried to sing. Why shouldn't you? You're my life
model,
after all.
Jane, sweet Jane, do you still think of me? I'll try to be a careful boy
this time. I'd like to hold a seance, and summon back those grass bank
ghosts. It's all so clear now - I have a world view: blue, all over.
Oh,
that friendloverplane! It took you away, and buried your love like
treasure.
- Dwight
