Rodders was fab! Just him and his guitar. Lots of old faves - Whistling
in
the Dark, Julianne, Imperial, Different Now, Fun, Disney Head - and lots
of
new songs I didn't know. No Moped Song, alas!
Lots of Aeroplanes luminaries in the Gin Palace and I did take the
opportunity to bombard Rodney and Gerard with a flurry of drunken
questions.
Seems that Rodney's album will be a bit delayed since he feels he started
recording it before he had finished writing the songs. The Aeroplanes
album
has been put back again to September (cue moans of frustration). Expected
in May are albums by the Radon Daughters (who were also there) and Gerard,
who says his album will now be called Record Player, not X-Celebrity.
Anyway, it was a fab night and it was nice to meet the other PV, Paul
Vallis. Now does anyone know why the floor in the Gin Palace slopes
upwards
as you go in? I'm sure I wasn't THAT drunk.
