Actually, I think the meaning goes even deeper than the one you suggested.
The
ones who supposedly care for you, often use their love as an excuse to try
and
prevent you from doing things which they do not understand or approve.
How
often have you seen people using hurt or guilt in order to mainpulate
someone
they "love"?
